Whichever the Wind Blows
“Air Element”
Seminar to Studio Art
Fall 2021
Life is a double-edge sword, no matter which side hits you, you can get cut. One side might be nicer or more pleasant, but both can still hurt the same. Often times, people can be seen as kind or gentle spirits but everyone has a dark side to them.
According to certain mythologies, people who posses the air element as their main zodiac sign are masters of illusion. Their ability to switch personalities or desires instantaneously can cause them to be perceived as the most dangerous.
Their unpredictable nature can often be seen as deception. Like this doll, their beauty can be undeniable however, behind her smile is a wicked grin.
This next section was just a fun added portion of this project. I had a dream where I imagined what the character would say. It was just a little fun, random, added portion of the project that was last minute but was exciting to do.
I hope you enjoy :)
Knives
This is one of three different audios for this character.
I had never really done any type of dialogue for a character before and I am glad I did.
This was a fun dialogue because I played on the joke in my family about women and knives but I also brought in the aspect of an air sign. The symbol for an air sign is the Sword, so I thought it would be interesting to combine the two.
Love
This is the second out of three dialogues I created for this character.
With this dialogue, I wanted to emphasize that this character is not one-sided but instead is multi-layered.
I thought it to be important to illustrate how this character is not just a sassy or unpredictable person that always resorts to action. This character also has a sensitive side too.
Due to the amount of people that have betrayed her or hurt her in some way or another, she has gone “insane”.
Satan
This is dialogue three of three.
This was solely a fun nod to those who called me the Devil’s daughter because I was different.
I felt this played incredibly well with this character because of how she represents not only me and my life experiences thus far but also Air signs on a broad level. They can be unpredictable. They are nice until someone steps on them a little too much.
I wanted to emphasize that rage in this clip. I feel that air signs can take a lot and are able to hide the monster that is their anger until a certain point. The strongest people are those who know how to control it. I want this character to represent that as well.
